About Me
Hi, I'm Karmen!
I'm so glad you've found me. Before you trust me to tell your story through my lens, let me tell you a little of mine.
I’ve always had a bit of a love affair with new places. Moving around Australia as a child taught me that home can look a hundred different ways, and since 2008, the Lockyer Valley has been mine. With the people I love scattered near and far, I’ve become pretty comfortable with a packed bag, an open road and somewhere new to go.
This photography journey started as a creative outlet I so desperately craved, and somewhere along the way, it became a little passion of its own — alongside a life filled with family, work, fitness, gardening, reading, house renovations, and constantly wondering how I’m going to fit it all in.
It all started when a friend asked if I could pick up my camera for a last-minute maternity shoot after a cancellation. I immediately said yes. That little spark grew from there, and before I knew it, a decade of photos with random garden plants, wildlife and sports had turned into documenting family connections, love stories and all those fleeting moments in between — always chasing that infectious golden glow.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll either find me in mum mode with my son, husband and two dogs, in the garden wondering what else I can cross off my to-do list, or pursuing my other work in ecology and conservation with most of my recent work focused on koalas and working in local government.
My husband and I met through our shared love of mountain biking in 2016, and in March 2022, we got married after five inches of rain filled our venue. So, it’s safe to say I’m no longer nervous about a little rain on a wedding day!
And there’s my little snippet. I’d love to meet you, get to know your story, and help you remember all the little moments that make it yours.
